End of Rally - But it will be back

The crew were up early for their last day in paradise, and a hearty
breakfast was had at the base Ahdi Dharma Hotel with some last notes
taken for the next Rally Bali.

"Gotta get some Brunette Pit Girls, help the Blonde Pit Crew find the hotel
and no stinking Durian fruit" said Andretti, "we could hide the Durian in another
car" .. replied Marshal. A plan was hatched and a bigger beer coaster ordered.

The Jimny was returned to the garage for scrutineering by Made. He made a comment
about the evil smell in the cab but was happy with the coconut smell out of the
exhaust and the new tube in the tyre.

The boys were then on a "Retail Therapy Mission for the girls back home. Summer skirts,
that would be far to short & revealing, the genuine copy Oakley's for 20,000rp etc>
"Looks like the bludgers back home get sunnies and Rolex's for Christmas" said Andretti
"And I don't want to see your missus in those bathers Marshall !!.. turn me off me Bar-B-Que"

A wander up a number of the smaller gangs, unusable by the rally car, netted some
"Smelly gear" at 22,000 each ... "For the tarts" smiled Andretti, and it was back
to the Bali Cyber for a lovely Soto Ayam and a chat with Harry and Nina and a promise
that they would be ready for the next rally.(Maybe to be known as the "Durian Vehicle").

The BB gun was presented to Lyle, a retired English gent with a keen eye and deft shot,
for his night wanderings when the odd "pooch" comes out to bark. He promised to practise
every day. Then it was back to base to fill the goody bags for the trip home.

The Limo Kijang was there to pick them up with Harry at the wheel ... now ready to show
the skills that kept him in the rear seat for the whole of the Rally.
"Don't try anything I showed you hostage, if I get to tense there be a really bad durian
smell in here" warned Andretti, and so the speed was reduced to a crawl with windows wide open.

The extra security at the airport meant only a quick good bye and it was off to the Garuda lounge.
"Bugger" cursed Andretti, "not nearly enough time" .... and Home .... Bugger

Ozy Customs took one look at the crew and directed them straight out the nothing to declare line
"must of read about the Durian fruit" smiled Andretti. And there was Kathy, sorry Katherine to
pick them up .. the most dangerous part of the Rally so far .... the trip home.

To all future Bali Rally personal and others

At no time was Speed a part of our little adventure.
Rally was and always will be our way of forwarding information to those of about
to go to Bali or those of us reminiscing.

Our first adventure took place in the late 70s and our love of the place has
not diminished over the years. The events of 2002 have greatly affected
the Balinese, despite this their friendliness has not changed.

At no time did we feel in any danger, and the security around the island
was very obvious.
PS no animal bird or reptile was harmed in the making of this rally.

A few frequently asked questions to date,

Can I drink the water? NO only bottled water even for the teeth.
Can I drive ? YES only if your confident and not aggressive.
Can I drink and drive? You're a bloody Idiot (moderation is called for
or get a Hostage)
Will there be another Rally? OH YEH in the second quarter of next year.
Can I come? OH YEH the more the merrier (Cracker needs to get a bus !)
How much will it cost ? On top of your normal trip, about AU$300 to$400
for 3 Days including Jimny hire, accom and bintang money per double.
Can I book ? Nup but let us know in the guest book and as we get numbers
we will contact you with any info that we can

We don't see this as a money making venture but you will be up for a couple of
bintang's to keep the wheels of the Bali Rally Crew lubricated ....
