Day 4- Blue Moon (Amed) to Pacung Indah
But here we go for the Day 4 run
.......
Day 4 was spent with a leisurely morning at the
Blue Moon
.
Andretti was up early for the sunrise at 6.07 am after the 400 feathered alarm clocks
went off at 5.59am. Coffee was ordered on the balcony as they watched 300 fishing
boats returning to port
Ah Bali. Our host for the morning was John and his hospitality is unsurpassed.
The Blue Moon is surrounded by Balinese market gardens and fishing villages dot the coast
in both directions
And there are 5 or 6 other restaurants and bars in a 1 km range and as Andretti was heard to say
Ahh the serenity. So if you honey-mooning, looking for that special place to take the secretary,
or even the wife, this is a must.
The return route was a 4 hour stage through Singaraga that turned into a five hour trek with
the first stop to the tyre doctor , just in case. A new tube was fitted at a cost of
70,000 (au$13.00) by the local mechanic, ably assisted by the Flag Marshal, and we were away
within 15 minutes.
and the rally continued until it became apparent a Cremation ceremony was under way.
As they could not proceed the crew asked the local marshals if they would receive a time credit.
They appeared to reply that it would only take 2 Minutes.
It was a full 5 minutes at that one, 10 at the next ,13 at the next and
then 6 at a marriage followed by a screaming Jimny run to Git Git for refreshment
and a "Funny Dunny Report" ( picture to be posted) The Marshall reported that
"It rates highly on a local standard although the flushing system was purely
decorative ... it was clean ... the door closed and a bucket and water were
supplied its a "big 3".
After the refreshments they continued to Bedugal and to the temple again an empty location.
Andretti was heard to say "hurry up, its time to spank the monkey at
Pacung Indah
"
This appeared to be an error on his behalf as it was to see "Spanky" the monkey,
a recent arrival at David and Moira's Resort (but it did get the flag marshal moving)
In David and Moira's absence we were greeted by there second in command ,Wayan.
Again its delicious food and cold Bintangs, I don't know how the crew can keep
up this demanding regime. Even with an hours chat to the guys at Pacung Indah
they are still in the lead. It appears that Pacung Indah's Lady Monkey, "Barbie"
met with Resident Man Monkey "Ken", Barbie now finds herself with child
and Kens outa there.
Now Barbie was a quiet little thing until the birth of "Spanky", but has acquired
a resentment of all males, so not feeling totally welcome and with the bananas
not finding a soft spot the Crew retreated to the bar for a cleansing ale.
The restaurant is still attracting a great deal of people thought the afternoon.
As we were leaving a portrait was ordered by Marshal.
(ED's Note .. must say it's not a bad picture of the
Pacung Indah
staff & lovely view ... the Crew naah )
What wasn't known, at the time of the portrait, Flag Marshal was checking the firmness
of the waitress. So with that in hand the rally proceeded uninterrupted to the stage
finish at the Bali Cyber Cafe and a stage 4 win.
