Day 2 - Out and About on the Streets of Kuta, Legian and
beyond
The Rally is on the road .....
Last night was a Feast at the Bali Cyber Cafe, the menu is extensive and
the Balinese and Indonesian section has every thing, next time your up make
this place a must for Dinner. See the photo Gallery Page for more examples)
Today consisted of some High speed stages (reaching speeds of 30kph) through
the gangs of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. Without pace notes or any navigation
what so ever (Damn you navigator .. where are you ?)
The run was carefully timed by a number of marshals out side the warungs along
the way with many signaling that we were 1 minute up on time and some even
suggesting 2 minutes ( well they were suggesting something with their hands ?)
At the end of one Gang we found a slight detour was needed (reverse gear
, difficult section .. one of those "wrong way go back rice paddies") due to
navigation error.
Proceeded to find a number of fueling stops (Jimny was fine .. it's the crew that
constantly needs refilling) and suddenly found the "Bali Deli" (Much to popular
rumor
We were actually looking for it ... honest !)
Now if your up here and you are craving the cheese olives and sun dried tomatoes etc etc
for the afternoon "Duty Free Session" ... this is the spot, Jl Legian in Seminyak.
Directly across the road from Bali Deli was "The Fantasy Retreat and Spa"
Yes .... Yes ..... mmmm .... mmmm ... maybe it will need more investigation.
Lunch was a small affair upstairs Restaurant opposite 14 Roses ( when the head
clears
I'm sure we can put a name to it) with a lovely sate, gado gado & 1 or 6 Bintangs.
This caused the Flag Marshal to need a "Little afternoon lie down" ... So out of
practice ... I'm almost ashamed.
So this evening its off to Mykonos in Seminyak near the Oberoi for some Greek and
maybe a chance to smash some crockery and some more Bintang training for the Flag
Marshal.
Tomorrow is a cross country stage to Ahmed and The Blue Moon visiting all points in between so until
then ... Good Night
